GENERAL INFORMATION

To be a member, complete application form and pay annual dues of $15 (in cash) by September 1st.
Your dues pay for administrative costs for the group and for the general fund.
Do not give out personal information about members without their permission.

YAHOO “Loop”

The “loop” is the message board used by members to post information relevant to the group

  • The loop is available only to current, dues paying members of the Collierville Homeschool Support Group.
  • Each new member will be sent an invitation to join. Once the invitation is received, you will need to follow the instructions on the website to join the message board.
  • The members list will be posted on the yahoo loop under files. You may print off a copy for yourself. No copies will be handed out at meetings. PLEASE DO NOT give copies of this list outside of the group!
  • Each September the Yahoo membership will be reviewed and any group member who is no longer active and/or current with their dues will be deleted.
  • The message board should be used for encouragement and support, event reminders, questions, prayer requests, general group information and any subject pertaining to homeschooling.
  • All emails need a good description in the subject line. This will help members quickly identify and read emails important to them and delete any emails that are not relevant to them/their children. PLEASE DO NOT POST SPAM ON THE LOOP!!!!

PARTIES/FIELD TRIPS/CRAFTS

  • Parents are responsible for planning field trips throughout the year. Field trip coordinators only coordinate field trips planned by other moms to prevent scheduling of field trips back to back.
  • BE ON TIME – there will be a 5-minute wait window, after that the field trip/party, will begin without you.
  • Review appropriate group/field trip behavior and any event-specific rules with your child before arrival.
  • If you can not attend the field trip due to an emergency, please contact the organizer for that specific field trip so someone else might attend in your place and the group doesn’t wait for you to arrive. Many field trip opportunities are dependent upon the number of attendees so a head count is important.
  • If you have organized the field trip and are unable to attend, it is your responsibility to make arrangements with someone else to be the coordinator for that field trip. Do not expect one of the leaders of the group to do this for you; leaders do not attend all field trips.

PAYMENT

  • Sign-up and payment deadlines are firm – please be respectful of the people planning these events. Sign up and pay in a timely manner so they know how many to plan for.
  • If payment is not received by the payment deadline, you will be removed from the list.
  • Cash only (bring small dollar bills to the meetings for payment of events).
  • No Refunds….period. If you have paid for a party or craft and cannot attend at the last minute, you can pick the craft up at a later time or it may be sent home with someone else who was able to attend.

ELEMENTARY FUNCTIONS

  • Elementary functions are NOT drop-off’s.
  • Should you be unable to attend or need to leave at any time during a function, you are responsible for finding an adult to supervise your child(ren). Please let the child know who is looking after them. Due to the growth of our group, group leaders cannot be responsible and will not be held liable for children left unattended during an event.

TWEEN (gr. 4th-7th) & TEENS (ages 14-16) GROUP FUNCTIONS

  • TWEENS and TEENS want their space!!! - If you are having an older sibling drop off/pick up your tween, please be sure they have somewhere else to go during the party. Only kids in this age range will be allowed to stay for the event.
  • All events are well chaperoned.
  • Appropriate attire is required at all times. (i.e. no string bikini’s at the pool parties)
